For all of you who might be wondering how my dog Chief is doing since I raised the money to take him to the vet a few months ago, the answer is that he is doing much better. He is on medication and a special diet. He still walks with a limp if he has to walk more than a few hundred yards, but he is still always excited to go for a little walk. He’s been able to lose a few pounds due to the special diet, and that has really helped his hips too.
He is currently staying with my parents a couple of hours away as they have a larger house and back yard, and he loves them as much as they love him. Although he spends a lot of time just lounging around, it is probably just because he’s getting a bit old for a large breed (over 9 years). Some days are better than others for him, but at least he has plenty of good days and isn’t in constant pain. I wanted to say thanks one more time to all of you who helped out by getting a raffle ticket for the guitar a few months ago and helped get him to the vet, and helped to pay for the medication for a while. I sincerely appreciate it.
